Cidri Mark II Player's Notes

All information from the Drunalay Player's Notes applies, but you will not be with the Circus so the information there is for reference only. You may encounter the Circus (or you could be ex-Circus) however.

Background

Remember that Cidri is TL3 with some elements of TL4 thrown in. You know that every once in a while someone finds something which seems to have magical effects but is totally unmagical. It is widely believed that an ancient race left these behind, and a Guild of Mechanicians has grown up around finding and trying to understand and use these gadgets.

There are three major areas of Cidri currently developed. The oldest is the area known as old Hrolmar. South and west of Hrolmar across a wide gulf is the area known as Drunalay, and directly south of Hrolmar is the desert and the lands beyond. You may be from anywhere in Hrolmar or southern portions of Drunalay (the old adventuring area from the first Cidri).

Characters

Races

Humans dominate, but this is fantasy so you can play a non-human. You can play any of:

Please see the
Non-Humans in Drunalay document for more details.

Other Notes

I expect this campaign to be semi-heroic and fantasic rather than realistic, though certainly not fully cinematic. I want each of you to be will to create and do things in the spirit of "If it's not stupid and self-destructive, it probably won't kill you." You can still die and should expect to if you try something far beyond your character's ability ("I leap barehanded into close combat with the fire-breathing dragon!"). I'm also willing and happy to have anyone contribute ideas to flesh out the world.
