PC CREATION INFO ---------------- Chris's Horror PC package: (10) High Pain Threshold (15) Legal Enforcement Powers ( 5) Rapid Healing (25) Toughness - DR2 (-5) Sense of Duty - friends ---- (50) In addition to the above, *add* 100/40/5. You should end up with a 150 point character. The -5 pt Sense of Duty does not count to your total of 40 disads. You must come up with a good reason for your Legal Enforcement Powers. The other stuff you have because if you weren't studs you could handle the job anyway. Also, the following house rules will be in place: BASIC ATTRIBUTES Will [WL] Strong/Weak will are not allowed. Will is now a basic attribute just like ST, DX, IQ, and HT. When a mage casts spells, he draws from his WL first, then his HT, instead of drawing off ST then HT. His skill levels are still based off IQ. Perception: vision, hearing, tactile, etc. is based off (WL + IQ)/2. ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGE Eidetic Memory This advantage does not give you any bonus to Mental Skills. Obviously it's cheaper. If anybody wants it, let me know and we'll decide what the point cast should be. SKILLS Detect Lies (TL) Detect Lies is the skill of detecting whether or not somebody is lying. Attempting to do this without the appropriate equipment gives a -5 to this skill. Appropriate equipment gives you a TL - 5 bonus. Attempting to do Detect Lies without the proper amount of time gives a further -5. For every 20 - base skill minutes you spend with the subject, your lack of time penalty is reduced by 1. For every 20 - base skill minutes you spend with your subject hooked up to lie detection equipment, your lack of appropriate equipment penalty is reduced by 1, until you reach your TL - 5 bonus. Detecting Lies against someone else is a contest of your Detect Lies against their Acting. They have a +5 to their skill, since they are acting like themselves (only they're lying). Someone without Acting Skill rolls against IQ since Acting defaults off IQ - 5. Examples: You have Detect Lies (TL 7) at 15. After spending 45 minutes with your suspect hooked up to lie detection equipment, you may roll against your Detect Lies + 2 vs. their Acting + 5 to determine when they were lying during the interview. A success will allow you to tell with reasonable assurance every instance the subject lied. The 45 minutes, (20-15)*9, are enough to remove all penalties and max your bonus at TL-5. At TL 9 you ask someone you just met in a bar their age and want to know if they told you the truth. You have Detect Lies at 15 and they do not have Acting. This is a contest of your Detect Lies - 10 vs their IQ (default Acting + 5). You take full penalties in a situation like this. If they're still around after 45 minutes, you could ask again with a - 7 penalty. (You've gotten rid of the -5 lack of time penalty, but it's a repeated attempt so the GM gave you an extra -2.) At TL 5, you spend an evening talking with a new contact. You have Detect Lies at 12. They have Acting at 12. This is a contest of your Detect Lies - 5 vs their Acting + 5. You've spent enough time to remove the time penalties. Your lack of equipment is the problem here. Guns There is no IQ bonus to Guns skill (or any physical skills for that matter).
